How can i deep clean my chain?
I have the chain pulled off right now and was wondering if there was a way to give it a extra deep clean? I have herd of dips and boiling, any ideas of advice would be appreciated? Thank you!

How can i deep clean my chain?
Put it in some kerosene and use a grunge brush or a toothbrush to clean all the gunk off.
Re: How can i deep clean my chain?
Okay thanks, should i let it soak in the kerosene for any time before scrubbing? Should i wash it off after with anything or just dry and wax?

You can let it soak. After you clean it you can dry it with a rag then trow wax on it or wash it and let it dry then wax it. It's usually said its best to warm the chain then wax it. Not sure how important it is though. I use duponts Teflon chain wax. Works good with minimal fling off.

Did you mention boiling? Holy cow that sounds bad.
As mentioned, soak in kerosens an brush off the gunk.

Soak in kerosene overnight. Let it drip dry for a half hour after scrubbing, the kerosene dries/evaporates quickly. Also Kerosene is used because it does not hurt the O-rings & X-rings in the chain. Unlike introducing boiling water or wd-40 to the chain..

Linklyfe or Castrol heated chain grease.
Sadly a long forgotten method, used before O ring chains or aerosol lubricants were invented.
Bet Y.G. has experience of this method.

Re: How can i deep clean my chain?
pinesol huh? I think i will stick with kerosene. Byt thanks for the reply, another idea indeed. Just looks like the kerosene way is the more commonly acceptable way to go about it. And i have never herd of heated chain greese, does it work better than regular spray wax? last any longer or give better lubrication or durability?
