Did you have any problems with bugs and dirt? I had to paint a car outside one time and I was on the third coat of paint. And of course a moth lands on it. However the funny part was we kind of turned it into a tattoo if you will. The moth flew off but left a perfect impression. So I took some black and outlined and shaded it a little. Was pretty neat.

I definitely have had a couple of gnats land in the paint. Wetsanding makes them almost unnoticable, ha, but I know they are there.

I've seen something have always wanted to try. You put on to coats and then on the third when its still wet you take wrinkled up paper or something and press it against the paint. And then clear 8-9 times. The other alternative is doing what lambo does and wet sand in between coats and clear coats. That would be a lot of work. Worth it though.

Wet sanding between coats helps to dampen the orange peels affect that occurs, it provides a smoother surface for your next layer of paint. A quide coat is also very useful, you spray a couple of layers of paint and then sand back to original, this then leaves the paint in the lower areas of the bodywork showing up which bits need attention.

Very nice job by the way, cant wait to get stuck into mine

I did indeed wet sand between each step (primer/base/secondary). I will also wetsand from 600-2000 and then buff when the clear has cured enough.

One word of caution when it comes to wetsanding. Between steps, use a 600 grit paper. If finer grit is used, the surface can be to smooth, and the next coat will not adhere properly.

As soon as the bits are cut/buffed, I will re-assemble the little 400 and get some proper pictures taken.

I appreciate all of the kind words, fellas.

Cutting and buffing is for the birds. However, there is something satisfying about this:

And here is it starting to look like an actual motorcycle:
