VRR Problems
Just finished up wiring in my new VRR and its causing me a few problems, the main one being that when the vrr is plugged in the bike wont run, unplugged it will run up to 6k before it starts to flood (but thats a seperate issue). the wires are all in the correct place and it has its own ground wire attached to it. However i did join up the original and new ground wires together, could this be the problem as every picture i've seen has two seperate earth wires. Am i clutching at straws thinking that a joined up ground wires will cause this issue? Or could it be something completely different? It runs fine with out it plugged in but as soon as the vrr is plugged in it doesn't want to know.
Can anyone help me please??? I need the bike for Monday.....

You've gota manual son. Have you checked the wiring diagram mate. I would seperate the two earth wires as well. On your original R6 reg/rec I wired them in seperately.

Re: VRR Problems
Do you own a voltmeter?
Take the following measurements:
battery voltage with vrr disconnected and ignition off
battery voltage with vrr disconnected and ignition on (engine off)
battery voltage with vrr connected and ignition off
battery voltage with vrr connected and ignition on (engine off)
My feeling is that one of these is not what it's supposed to be. (they should all be within 12-14v)

Re: VRR Problems
Yeah, nothing on Alans part the guy who bent the box section didn't follow his drawing closely enough and the two sides are closer than they should have been, so i've had to cut part the brace out, flip it round then chemical metal it back into place to create a recess in the brace to allow the chain free movement as it used to catch on it. Hopefully it sorts out the problem, if not the brace is being hacked off....

Re: VRR Problems
What you cut the whole brace off or just a little bit??
Re: VRR Problems
Just a suggestion to get you diagnosing rather than just swapping around wires until it works. I'd be afraid that the VRR is wired wrong and you are getting a short.Gizzard1533 wrote:If one of those readings is out what would that suggest?olie05 wrote:Do you own a voltmeter?
