Just curious, since I have a friend who does anodizing, what parts(if any) on a stock FZR are aluminum?
Thanks.

Re: Aluminum parts
hi,
since you do not state model or year of FZR I suggest you use a magnet to find out what part is made of alloy or steel

US model, 1989 FZR600.
not much is aluminum, but a magnet is the best way, if it sticks, its steel. if not, its aluminum....or plastic!

Re: Aluminum parts
Except for stainless. Higher grades will be non-magnetic or have such a minimal attraction you can mistake it.Target30 wrote:US model, 1989 FZR600.

All the engine covers, rearsets, heel guards, pegs, levers, clutch perch, wheels, carb bodies and lower fork tubes. That's pretty much the list.

Re: Aluminum parts
Keeping in mind a lot of those parts are cast aluminum and tend to look like complete crap when anodized.
