It won't be coils because #3 and #4 are on separate coils. If you have a coil issue it will run on #1 and #4, or on #2 and #3.shredex wrote:put new plugs into 3&4 but still reading only about 115 degrees...i dont have a multimeter to test the coils but I might stick my fzr coils on it and try again

yea, I knew that but just figured maybe the coil wires were swaped around .reelrazor wrote:

I started the wire that said "1" on the clutch side and ended with "4" on the brake side.
Ill tear into carbs tomorrow morning and try cleaning them more.

Re: Shreds 94' YZF600R (She lives! Need some running help)
ok, did thorough cleaning on the carbs. pulled off every jet and cleaned avery passageway and nuck and cranny.
threw them on the bike
she ran, revs went up after about 1 min and disengaged choke and she still ran.
then I synced the carbs.
Im able to give her throttle and it revs up and everything good...doesnt sound right though...might need to drill out caps and adjust A/F screws
but there is one problem, if I really quickly snap open the throttle then the rpms go to low and almost stalls out. but if I do it at a nice pace then she will rev up.
its just if I snap it from idle.
I put it in 1st and the rear spun so that good...looks like clutch needs adjusting though...
vid in a little bit

I am having the same problem with the off-idle stumble. My next steps will be to check the float height and synch the carbs; it the problem remains then off they come again for Carb Cleaning Part II. Definitely following this thread to see if there is some quick and easy answer (or at least an answer).

Sounds rich still bub. What do you have it idling at?shredex wrote: Im able to give her throttle and it revs up and everything good...doesnt sound right though...might need to drill out caps and adjust A/F screws

Ok we need video of you riding it. With the fuel bowls full you should have at least a minute or two of ride time. Up the street and back. Do it..

A friend of mine encountered this very problem with his xj600. Clean your jets or completely replace them. Make sure the idle screw is set right. Check your coil packsm make sure theyre all getting the right amount of power. How old is the battery in it? You are going to have to let that thing sit and run with it on full or half-choke for a good long while. Change any other fluids you can. The white smoke is the starter fluid, seafoam, stuff you used to clean the carbs with and/or old gas in the lines. Which brings me to another suggestions, inspect your gas lines and fuel filter.
Re: Shreds 94' YZF600R (She lives! Need some running help)
are you still running it without the airbox on like in the videos? It will do that without the airbox on or with an incorrect a/f ratio.shredex wrote:if I really quickly snap open the throttle then the rpms go to low and almost stalls out. but if I do it at a nice pace then she will rev up.

Re: Shreds 94' YZF600R (She lives! Need some running help)
dirty is an understatement
fightered out wheelie machine! and the ultra fightered out paper weight
no clue what the fluck that was
shock bolt suppose to be tappered like that?
ecky
after cleaning...
the motor I pretty much just took a wire wheel to and got what I could...need to find some good cleaning solution
how the fluck do you remove that sprocket anyways? its a 530 14T
like barney
WTH is that slit? the top part measure 3/8" out but its crooked! could have used it as my cutting line

shock bolt: I've seen bolts similar to that, it looks like it's supposed to be tapered.
sprocket removal: I used an impact gun.
