Im not going to worry about that now because this thing is already running me close to 500 bucks. I honestly never had any use for a swingarm stand since I use a jack if I need to lube my chain or whatever. Although if I did decide to weld them on then I would have to go buy a 100 dollar stand to go with it as well.

I think the 8.46 distance will be OK. Tonight I will cut the caps and measure again. If Im close to 8.75 with the caps on by a few hundreds then I should be good to go. I can use a thin shim if I have to.

I hear ya. You could always use the universal if you decide to.

yeah. I might just search through craiglist and see if I can score a good deal on a used one.

So far this is my cost for the conversion.

Complete swingarm with with and everything = 200
Tire = 80
JT front sprocket = 24
Chain = 54
Rear Sprocket = 35
Bearings = 40

$439 total

Plus I need to go buy some paint and stuff so Im looking at close to $475 after everything

Here is a picture of the swingarm after I cut it. It sits right between 8 & 7/16ths - 8 & 1/2. The camera angle makes it seems a little less but its not.

I used hose clamps as a guide to make the cut square.

here is a picture of what I used to grind down the lip inside the tube so the bearing will fit flush. Just used my dremel with a 3/8 stone and a flapper wheel to smooth the roughness up. Came out good. Its ready for paint this weekend. Not sure if I should paint it black or silver.

I'll have to convert this from inches to mm for my conversion. 1 inch=25,4 mm. And I'm a little confused about the 7/16ths :headscratch:
Is 8,5 inches ok? That would be 8,5 x 2,54 = 215,9 mm ?

Or could I just measure my FZR swingarm and make it the same lenght?
