Re: GEARHEADS:- Nifty kit for the SERIOUS modder
That is bad ass. I've used 3D printers but they where gypsum based not ABS plastic based. The one in they showed is about half the cost of the gypsum printer I've used as well. I would love to get one of those scanners.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....
I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

You can actually make your own 3D scanner using a free program, a webcam, a laser pointer, and some stuff from a craft store.
Not so much with the 3D scanner, but the the printer yes. The other week I printed out a milling jig and it took 36 straight hours of printing. Unfortunatly those 3D printers aren't the most reliable things and break down often. We have a few different printers actually, ABS plastic, wax, and two more that use powder corn starch(they do color prints).yamaha_george wrote:M.megaloxana wrote:I got both of those exact machines here at my school.

Depends what you want. I could probably throw in some smaller things. The fact is that ABS material isn't the cheapest stuff. Granted the printers cost ridiculous amounts.thatkid wrote:Ummm wanna make me some stuff??megaloxana wrote:I got both of those exact machines here at my school.

Take it easy. In a few years we will all have a "plug in to the computer"model of this gizmo. I hope...
