I ride my rpms a little lower most of the time for two reasons

1. Cops LOVE to ticket guys on crotch rockets in our town for no reason

2. My emulsion tubes are shot. It starts stumbling really bad at 7k, so I can't really go much above 6,500 rpm

That being said my mileage will probably go down when the amulsion tubes go in and the stage 1 jet kit is installed. :whistle

when you do the emulsion tubes and stage1 , do u have to buy a carb kit also and rebuild the carbs or just put the tubes and stage1> your running tk's headers right ? if my bike makes it till spring this is the next job todo over the winter time

I actually haven't gotten TK to make me the headers yet, but if/when I do, I'd probably install more than just a stage 1.

As far as I know, you don't have to do anything but install the parts and re-tune the carbs, but when I pulled my fuel bowls the other day to clean them out from sitting, the seals were looking pretty old and were wanting to fall apart, and mine's just a '97 model. I picked up a set of K&L carb kits on eBay a little while back for like $70 Shipped, so I'm gonna rebuild mine completely, doing the whole carb dip thing in a week or two. I even got a set of replacement screws for the carb bowls at my local specialty hardware store to replace those dang phillips head screws that strip out with some nice hex-socket stainless ones.

You probably don't have to go as extreme as I'm going, but in a year's time I'll probably be a full time engineering student (if all goes well) with no income, and I'm having to try to bullet-proof the bike before the money-crunch happens.

clutch it to redline and dump it, see it it comes up in 1st gear
if it doesnt your bike is not tunes or ur clutch is worn

my bike poped up in first easily but since my clutch was worn second gear i clutch it and it just slips the clutch and doesnt grab

if you weigh 130 you should be able to get it up no problem

when you say "Let off" you mean let off the clutch right?
this is what im getting
*you pull in the clutch-
*turn the throttle to 6-8k-
*let go of the clutch-
*full throttle it-
*feather the throttle forward once on stand point
*switch to second gear and so on.

no let off the throttle for power wheelie.

in 1st gear ride up to ~8k rpm
let off the throttle (the front will dip a bit)
when the front is coming up from the dip, snap the throttle full
leave the clutch engaged the whole time

Be careful and wear your gear, man. And don't try to learn too much too fast. That's how you wind up on YouTube as the dumbass who comes off the bike at 70 and wakes up in the ER.

Other than that usual safety concern, have fun and good luck!

allright people.
after cleaning my carbs and fixing the jets, I almost shat my pants
I went to my riding spot and was in first gear and just floored it and the next thing I know, Im looking at the sky :headbang:
my nutz hurt like hell now.
it scared the crap out of me.
if I kept going with the throttle, then I wouldve flipped.

Yeah, it makes a bit of difference when it runs correctly.

what are they putting in that Florida water boy? Good God man, watch the nuts!

:tard: banghead

...oh yeah, and congrats on getting it running better... now be careful and learn to wheelie carefully! Don't over-do it, you'll get hurt and the insult to injury will be having to get a new tail etc for your bike.

Now ride it up to 15mph and hold the clutch and give it gas about 7to8K rpms let the clutch out and bam get her up manually and ride out 1st gear about switching to 2nd don't even think bout it until you can actually ride the gear out! just ride out 1st gear. That's where I'm at ! Once I goto switch into 2nd the front just comes down! With or without the clutch.

lol, I dont need to clutch it up...thats the scary thing. I can ride it out 1st with a power wheelie

My bike is so much faster now. I pretty much dont have any gas left for the week because I was out so long riding it :duh:

and even though my bike runs like a beast now, it starts like crap. I have to put the choke on pretty much every time and give it alittle throttle in order for it to start.. banghead
