That will make it harder to lift the front up (wheelie).

Generally you lower the bike to avoid the front coming up in a drag race.

It's not as easy as some people make it sound on the fizz. 52 in the rear will surely get it up with the right rpm's and clutching it up. Try popping the clutch at about 9 to 10 grand (rpm) while in first gear rolling, but make sure and cover your rear brake with your foot. Rise baby rise!!!!actually, I tried a wheelies before I lowered it and couldnt get it up.
maybe one day I should get a 52 rear sprocket, lower the back and raise the front.
Yeah I have the 400 frame.Havent quite got the ram air working yet, need bigger equalization tubes so I just pulled the air ducts off the scoops into the upper fairing for now.Im sure the cooler air from up front helps tho.On my old 6E that was longer and about 100 pounds heavier than this bike with stock 530/gearing I could roll on to about 7-8k snap it shut and right back open and bring the front up quite a bit.You just have to get the timeing right.Be nice and smooth and dont over think it.YAM93 wrote:
Notice that FasterThanUr is running 14-49, R6 header and custom ram air, also i'm pretty sure he's running a lightweight 400 aluminum frame.

Get Thatkid to build you an R6 header, put an aftermarket (FMF, Yoshimura, etc.) pipe on it and it should make enough of a difference for what you want to do. Follow our write-up under his section.
I couldn't do wheelies at all with the stock 530 chain 15-45 sprocket set-up. I could do small wheelies with the 520 chain and 14-47 sprockets. With the R6 header I can do wheelies all day. Honestly though, "power wheelies" are really not going to be normal for most FZR's... at least for our heavy steel frame 600's.

Shaves weight and opens up the motor for more power. Plus its a 4-2-1 header so it has more of a scavenging affect than the stock 4-1 header, giving you more torque. You will have to re-tune your carbs with any exhaust you purchase, but TK's R6 header mod is definitely the best bang-for-your-buck header setup with minimal work involved.shredex wrote: I dont see how the r6 header would help anything!
what does it do??
Here's a thread on that very subjectshredex wrote: I dont see how the r6 header would help anything!

You have to slip you clutch a littleshredex wrote:has anyone gotten the fronts of there fzr's in the air????
I have an after market rear spoke with a few more teeth and I cant seem to get the front up with no matter what I try.
any suggestions??
I wish I had a 400 frame so the bike was lighter.
I only weigh 130lbs so it should put up without to much od a struggle.
cant get it up though (maybe some bike viagra?)
Excellent YouTube video.TomGun wrote:There is a definite knack to popping a wheelie. Just to reiterate, wheelies can be unnerving at first, and I'm definitely no expert. My bike is pretty much stock, front forks are lowered (20mm) rear is raised (35mm) I'm running a stock 530 chain 15/45. I can accomplish a power wheelie at the top of 1st gear around 8 -10K letting off (quick) and cracking the throttle (quick), but this seems a little hard on the drive train, but it will come up.
And I try to do this in a "un-squidly" manner" cuz I might fall down and get a boo boo..![]()
