Reason for not swapping a complete T-cat motor in the 3TJ relates to competition class considerations. I have all of the parts to build the 489, but it's kind of low on the priority list.
I swapped a T-cat motor into the 1WG years ago. I used the T-cat loom because it came with the motor. I did a bunch of hacking on it to get all of the components where I wanted them, and keep the loom in the same location as the FZR's. Probably less work to modify the FZR loom to accept the TPS and T-cat ECU. Don's adapter would have saved a bunch of time.

FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.
FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.
