which US model designation yzf/fzr has the 4JH engine?

Post by sev »

Hi all,

I recently bought a transmission off of eBay US for what I thought was a fzr600r foxeye (designation as sold in the UK) with the 4jh engine. The transmission was listed as being for a '95 (eBay item number 351046629343 )

I received it today and much to my upset it didn't fit in the 4jh cases, the transmission appearing narrower. A pity as the service was good and the condition is excellent :(

So my question to you my across the pond friends is really, what should I be looking for transmission wise for a 4JH engine?

You guys are very lucky that you still have breakers that will take engines apart, over here if you can find one, a breaker just wants to rip the engine out of a bike and sell the whole thing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sev.

The 3HE was sold as the FZR600 from '89-'99 on this side of the pond. The 4JH was the '95-'96 YZF600, superceded by the 4TV YZF600 until ... 2005?
