"you can kiss my furry ass" :headbang:

I could see that coming!!! :Kick The Fur seat makes it unique... The Suicide shift looks very cool , how does it impact the overall drivability?

the shifter makes it a hundred times more fun. it's like going from an automatic to a manual in a car. it's hard to explain but it's a blast. there was a little wobbling coming to a start at first but it only took a couple hours to clear that up. now i can ride just as hard as before.

Nice work! I don't like the suicide shifter, but it's your bike. The short and low look remind of this bike: http://www.r1engineering.com

that is one sweet looking bike! You turned a sportbike into a cruiser! I wanna see a pic of you riding it or with you on it so I can see the new riding position.

A lot of you guys might not know "maverick" aka 92streetfighter, who has been a member of the Archives for quite some time as well. It's been a long time since I read his re-build thread, but if I remember correctly he was in an accident with the bike and decided to go another direction, i remember stories of how he took it down the stairs into his basement during the winter (I can't remember if it was last winter or the year before) and had the bike completely apart and was cleaning and polishing and re-painting almost every single part. Probably one of the more interesting projects. +1000 kudos

Anyway, let's all try to be nice over here, I know some of us have clashed in the past, or at least we had the "perception" of having arguments. Streetfighter even got mad at me one day, I can't remember why, probably something stupid I typed and didn't mean. Anyway, i don't want it to become like it was sometimes on the Archives over here, with people getting their feelings hurt or thinking they are better than others. Everyone has a different style, taste, way of riding, history, likes and dislikes etc. Anyway, megaloxana is a pretty cool guy here also, and I'm quite sure he didn't mean anything bad and I'm positive he wasn't being snotty or putting you down.

We all share a great commonality here, a love of motorcycles and riding, and there's a lot of mechanical ability and creativity represented here. And I respect that, we all do. So I just hope we can all be friends. On a sidenote: Maverick, did you graduate from the auto mechanic school yet ? I remember you telling us about your Snap-On (?) tool collection. You gotta post up pictures my friend.

:tks:

BTW I LOVE the silver fenders, totally wicked.

well put yam. i'm not one to hold a grudge and i definitely meant no disrespect. thanks for the kudos. and i have not graduated yet. i start again tomorrow actually. i have one more year of all the interesting stuff. in depth engine building' automatic transmissions' and hybrid and hydrogen technology. yes it is snap-on. i get a hefty discount from snap-on cornwell and craftsman while attendiing school. anything they make is like 50% off. not sure on the exact number but it's big. lol i'm using my student loan to get all sorts of new toys this fall. :) and yeah it started out very shiny and polished but kind of moved away from that. i find i can enjoy riding much more when i'm not worried about getting a bug on my bike... and i got to watch a friend ride it home (too much to drink) while i was riding in a car next to him and it looked totally badass. :shocker

Well put sir. I agree totally. I've always thought the direction Maverick went with his bike was, in my opinion, genius. You don't see an FZR looking the way his looks everyday. His looks like no one else's. As I've said before Maverick the bike looks great and what you've done with it is refreshing to see in a virtual sea of FZR's being made to look like R6's. ClapHands

Oh yea..the seat rocks. :shocker

Agree wih the FZR/R6 cloning. I'm all for yupdated and improved componentry being grafted onto our oldsters, but if i were bothered to that degree i'd go buy an R6!

Thats an interesting machine. Not my cup of tea, but if it keeps another FZR alive then all power to you chum.

Some straight bars on risers'd look pretty phunkie on there ;)
