Hi,
New to FZR online
I have a speedway sidecar with a 1988 fzr1000 motor in it, we are currently re building the bike and trying to find a starter motor to fit the bike as the original is about 5-10mm to long to fit in the bikes frame.
Probably a long shot.. but does anyone know if a smaller sized fzr ( fzr600 ect ) starter motor will fit in the fzr1000 motor.. As long as the cog fits in and operates it will be fine, we can make mounts/brackets to suit.
I have had a good look around on the internet but cant seem to find an answer..
thanks in advance

Re: fzr1000 starter motor alternative
The motors fix via horizontal bolts on the 1000s and vertical bolts on the 400/600s.
I doubt the end caps could be swapped even if the bodies were shorter.
The 400 and 600 are the same length and fitting but the 600 is a greater diameter.
