Hydraulic clutch problem

Started the bike and when I go into first, engine stall. Tried bleeding the line, even tried bleeding the banjo bolts from the MC. Seems to be clear of air in the line and pressure on the lever is there. Bike still stall when I shift. Took the slave cylinder out and and the oil seal got a little tear on it. There is also alot of dirty around the seal. Seems to be leaking from the paint peeling off around the slave cylinder. Anybody got any problems with this? Inputs needed. Should I just rebuild the slave cylinder?

Also I see air bubbles from a little whole on the MC reservoir cap when I squeeze the clutch lever. Is that normal?

not sure about the earlier genesis model but the later exup has a side stand cut out switch....if you put the bike in gear with the stand down it automatically cuts out

As for the slave cylinder, its a common issue. As long as the piston and outer casting arent too corroded a reuild kit will do. Just make sure the surfaces are cleaned up well. The bubbles in the MC may be due to the fluid leak from the slave

Thanks stig, just ordered the slave repair kit from eBay. It didn't seem to be corroded, just got a bit of dirt around it. Don't think there is a switch for the side stand.

If it's a 1989 or newer model, then there is. I have had one close call starting off with the side stand still down when the switch wasn't working. And it has saved me at least 2 times after I fixed it. The only thing better than the switch, is a self-retracting side stand.

Just rebuild the slave cylinder and it still not disengaging. Pressure is there on the lever. Don't know what else. Mc was rebuilt by PO. I might not have all the air out. The fluid is clear though. No more bubble noted.

is the bike new to you? Do you KNOW it was OK before a certain point/event, Has it just come on gradually?

Maybe PO has been in there messing and its time to make sure its assembled as it should be. Too thick an oil will also stop the clutch disengaging as it'll drag

Bike is new to me. Rode 100 mile home when I bought it. Rode around town for about 2 weeks. The day it happen, I realize the fluid got low on the Mc. I bled it with new fluids and it work. Next day it don't work. Realized that the slave cylinder was leaking so just got done rebuild. Bled it again, replaced the crush gaskets also. I also replaced the oil with Rotella T oil. Used it on my other bike as well so it couldn't be the oil.

only thing I personally can think of is theres still some air in the system somewhere...running out of ideas

Thanks stig for helping. I actually got it to work today with a mityvac. About an hour later, it does it again. I'm pretty sure there is air somewhere in there. Go through it again tomorrow morning. I wish I could just have a whole day with a pack of beer dedicated to my motorcycle. Lol

I'm gonna try to reverse bleed it in the morning. Heard good things about it.

update: reverse bleeding did it. took me about 15 minute for the whole process. Amazing......
