it idles fine unless the choke is on. Choke causes it to stall similarly to giving it throttle. I have no tach on now so 5-7k rpm is a guess or maybe 1/4-1/3 throttle.
any ideas ?

The choke is only needed when starting from a cold engine, and not even then if it's warm enough out. Like Mikey said - if you don't need it, don't use it!

i see now my post was unclear. The engine stalls when i give it any throttle past about 5-7k
the choke issue seems to be secondary.
It idles fine and warms up without choke if i give it a little gas here and there. The main problem i have is the engine stalling with more than a little throttle.
