Well, it only took 2 days for the tools to get here. I riveted the master link myself and finished aligning it, as well as going ahead and installing the EBC HH superbike pads I got a little while back. Flushed and replaced the coolant, but it still needs a bigger fan with a manual override to deal with the south Alabama heat.

Definitely scoots quite a bit faster than it did, though I still have the carb/ignition problems in the higher RPM range hurting me.

Other than the occasional high heat problem, the only hitch I ran into with the conversion happened last night at 11:30pm. I took the bike out on a shakedown run, was slowing down for a turn and went to pull the clutch in, and ::pop:: the clutch cable popped loose. :swear I shut it down, put it in neutral, and pushed it into a parking lot. Had to get my sister to bring me some tools, and I pulled the sprocket cover again and re-attached the clutch cable in about 10 min. Since then, no problems.

Yes !

When you increase the front sprocket size, you automaticaly increase the front sprockets lifespan !

I ran an AFAM 15 front and a Sprocket Specialists 50 rear with a DID ERV2 chain for almost 10,000 miles with no discernable wear - for all I know the next owner is still running it.
Gotta run, I have to swing by the liquor store and Starbucks before my AA meeting.....

I've run all 49 tooth rear Vortex sprockets. This way I can run a 14-15-16 tooth front sprocket for different applications and not worry about too much wear.

14/49 for Track Days - hold on to your panties!
15/49 for Spirited Rides - decent acceleration without extreme mileage loss
16/49 for Mileage - almost stock gearing

I bought all of my sprockets, except this last one for my Suzuki 17" rim, through SOAP (Sum of all Parts). I always get the clip link instead of the rivet. Easier to install. I do believe they have all but switched to the clip link now.
