time for assembly
Ok so I'm putting parts in order for assembly but I have a few questions. Will it matter if I'm missing one front rotor bolt? I broke a bolt off trying to take them out awhile back. Then I tried to drill it out and tap it. That never went well either. So if I'm missing one bolt does it matter or I have to get another rim? The rim also has a little rough jagged scratches around the speedometer gear housing, and its about the same on the opposite side. Its maybe a half am inch from where the top edge of the wheel bearing is when the bearing is in its seat. Should I replace the rim or don't let it worry me?

I'll bite, the only thing more important than going is stopping. Take your rim to a machine shop and see if you can remove the broken rotor bolt for you. If not I'd find a good used wheel. So long as your scratches don't impact the wheel bearing you should be fine there. While I haven't looked, there are probably skads of front wheels on fleabay. But to each their own.

Yeah, rotor bolts are kind of important. Will it affect you....probably not really. Is it a good idea....probably not really.

What's the worse that could happen with one bolt missing? Not trying to be funny, just weighing my options.

Be very careful with your wheel balancing.
The 5 bolts should be strong enough to hold the rotor safely. You bet your life?
What MIGHT happen is thermal distortion under repeated heavy braking, such as a racing environment or serious ramping.

Sounds crazy but I do
. I drove 100 miles with ONE set of brakes. Front brakes only with only one front caliper, with a bad tire. Yea I pushed my luck plenty of times.

I wouldn't do it, I would fix it or have it fixed or get a new wheel. I could see riding it to the machine shop or to the mechanic if you give up trying to remove the broken bolt yourself.

This type of statement doesn't make you sound cool or dangerous. It pretty much makes you sound like an idiot. It may sound like I'm being an idiot but its not. An idiot is a person who doesn't know any better. In my case I'm more of a risk taker. I know what's best but I still want to do what I want to do. I've been that way all my life. Maybe one day my ways may change. No matter if its four wheels or two wheels, If I feel comfortable enough to drive reckless and risk my life, that's on me. No harm taken by the way.
One more question. The hub in the rear that holds the rear sprocket, can that be powder coated also? Also what is the best way to remove that bearing?
