Mirror help

Post by Tyrone »

So I got my 89' 600 road ready and now I just have to get the cosmetic issues done. So first things first, turn signal!
Would these go on easily and be a good replacement rather than the stock ones I have, because the stock ones are awful.

Also my mechanical experiences are extremely limited. Any help is appreciated and what kind of tools do I need?

They should work. You will need extra wire most likely and bullet connectors and a wire crimping tool. Standard hand tools.

I know turn indicators are a personal preference but these are a straight bolt-on.

M In KC, what exactly are those? I can see them in the picture but I'm not sure what the name of them are.
ThatKid, how hard would you think it would be on a scale of 1-10 lol. I actually found a wire crimping tool laying around in my house, why I have one I have no clue but hey I'm not complaining.

A 2..maybe a 3. You'll have to drill a hole for the wire to run through and then you'll have to plug the wires into the harness on the bike side. There may be enough wire with the mirrors that you won't need any extra wire but I don't know. Also, the FZR uses a 3 wire front blinker and most likely those are a 2 wire. I know there is a way to make it work but I don't remember. Otherwise they just don't stay on and will only signal. Might be illegal in your state.

Everything is illegal in Ohio lol. Time to look for an alternative, I heard that the r6 mirrors are a straight bolt on procedure is this true?

T, those were the factory turn signals for the Canadian FZR 400's. They are a direct replacement for the US FZR 600's. On a difficulty scale of 1-10 they are a 0. Here's what they look like on my scoot. My mirrors for what they are worth are YZF 600r mirrors. Again a straight bolt on for the 600's. These two photos are obvious post and pre paddock stands. Geezus what was I thinking back then. It's a wonder I didn't drop this thing whilst servicing it that way back then.

The YZF 600 mirrors is what I have also. Much better than the goofy looking mickey mouse stock one's imo. Direct bolt on swap. Can find them new for $10-20 on Ebay.
