The difference between the YZF750 and 600 ... is everything, although I think the brake calipers might be common lol

Again I would say to get a running 3HE and build them together. Even then you have to consider that you'll end up with a lighter 600 ... if it all goes ok. Cost of this will be about 1000
If you start to want bits from one or another bike that cost will rise quite quickly, a Thundercat front end 500, Thundercat engine, carbs, airbox, pipes, cdi, loom ... budget 500, back end with 17" wheel ... 300

Your original post said you wanted a cheap fun bike, I have to say the best thing you can do is break this sell a couple of bits and buy yourself a FZS600 Fazer for about 1200. This will be a money pit and probably end up as an abandoned project.

Just gone back to a question you asked when you first joined;

Yes; that subframe is squashed in from the r/h side.
You could strip the exup servo mount plate out ( the bit at the rear that is now like a propeller in X section); jack out the rear arm, flatten out the plate and reweld it in.
You would not need the servo mount plate though if fitting a 3HE (no exup) but you would need something structural.

Its nearly 2 years since you first got it;did you ever get a reg ?
If not; there's more expense.

Evil0 is bang on with his last post, especially about expenditure.

There is a costing for one I did on the last page of this build, and I had next to nothing to do or buy for that bike, using
lots of parts that I had in stock/ no outlay.

Before I forget ; you need a 520 chain setup, 428 is no good for the horsepower a 600cc produces.

Yeh I get what yous mean about expenditure but if I can get an engine/loom/exhaust/carbs etc for £500, I then basically have a running bike for £500, Yeh I've mentioned suspension swaps and stuff but I'd probably just refurb the standard stuff for the time being
I'm not looking for some high specced bike or anything, I have a cbr600 I use as a daily the fzr I just wanna put together as a little toy and too keep me busy with something to do, I've built a few bikes from the frame up, If I end up liking the fzr the cbr may get sold to fund suspension upgrades etc
It may end up as an abandoned project as I've abandoned a few bikes in the past but I'm not all that fussed, If I end up buying an engine and bits then give up I'll just sell it all not a big deal

I actually just missed out on an fzr600 tank/seat and some panels, Went cheap on ebay same boy in Edinburgh that sold that fzr600 engine

If you have somewhere to work/store it, then a little at a time/as and when funds allow is a good way to go.
Just keep an eye out and hoover up the stuff you need at the end of no bid auctions.
Fortunately 3HE/1WG Genesis stuff is cheap and easy got .

Good luck with it and keep us updated.
