ive benn looking for 2 fingered brake and clutch levers for my FZR 1000 from 1989. problem is that i can only find for 91 and up. will these still fit? what is the difference? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PRO-Yamaha- ... d8&vxp=mtr
Master cylinders were changed in 1991 when the 1000 RU replaced your 1000R.
The original 1000R brake lever has a screw that can be used to adjust the span, the later RU uses a dial type lever and is not interchangable.
Unsure of clutch.
I have not seen span adjustable levers to fit the 1000R master cylinders; most owners uprate them especially if fitting Blue spot calipers.
The Fzs 6 master cylinder is a good replacement, whilst keeping the intergral reservoir for the brake application when using Blue spots.
Sent from my keyboard using the English language not some teen text shite from a fooking phone.
Not sure about the brake adjustable ones but you can certainly get them for the clutch side as I have one on my OEM clutch master. I seem to remember that it might be possible to fit the brake one from the 750 but its just a recollection that would need looking into
better off upgrading to R1 or R6 blue spot calipers too with matching Master cylinder...that way you'll have far betterbraking AND an adjustable lever thrown in
Totally agree, been thinking on blue spots for a while now. But I'm limited on cash this winter and I'm doing some other work on my bike as well. Levers I can afford and probably a nice mastercylinder . Can anyone confirm that the clutch lever on a 91 will fit on a 89?
