Front Suspension question

Post by duke_tj »

A couple months ago i got a FZR600 completely stock and with 17k on the meter, the forks are working but i'm pretty sure that they had been barely serviced and they feel soft, so i'm thinking on doing and upgrade but not sure what path to follow. One option is to get new Spring including oil (15 - 20w) and new seals that should cost around $200 and maybe the emulator later on(if i feel like it), or do the thundercat fork swap that i think be around $500, i'll be using this for commuting and fun driving on weekends and no track at all, so the costlier fork swap is worth it or the spring kit is more than enough, what do you recommend?

If you're just driving on the street, then just use a longer preload spacer and some thicker oil.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If the seals are not leaking, don't replace them. If the forks have never been serviced, it's not a bad idea to change the oil / check the level. You can do this yourself and will cost you about $10.
