1995 fzr 600 genesis starting problem

Post by jijomantolo99 »

Hi all, im new to the forum,

I just got a fzr 600 genesis 1995 for cheap for 380 with the helmet.

Well to make it short, when i came to see it , was starting the first shot, no idle problem, no smoke , nothing, no leak.

I took it into my trailer and bring hit to my house, by the time ive stopped to look at my strap if they was ok, and ive seen some little gaz leaking near the pitcock

so i closed the valve.

Arrived at my house, i wanted to make a nice ride, and i tried to start the bike. i put the valve back on, the cable clucth is tight like on the petcock but anyway, was gaz leaking there a bit when on position on far to the right , if a little to the left not at off position but only a little to the right its not leaking anymore.

so i was tryng to start it etc, only wanted a little but i was not able to start it. it wanted to but no.

so i tried with choke etc, nothing.

After like 5 minute ot start and blabla start,. i stoppet to pressing th etsart button, anf got a big big shotgun sound in the muffler.

done that 2-3 time every time i tried to start the bike.

So anyway i took the carburator out etc but i did not understand where to clean etc.

i just seen the video here in this forum about 20 minute ago how to clean jet carb etc but i already took the bike to a man i kno that repair yamaha motor ( boat one )...

Anyone have an idea what it can be ??? ( when it was in my trailer it bounced a lot caus the street here are very bad ) ( maybe the gaz f*ck in the carb like a motocross while making some jump ??? )

THanks for the tips....

top suspects are too tight valves and spark plugs.before you jump to the valves check the possible thigss like fuel starvation, spark plugs, and battery

can you tell me more explaination please. what is top suspects ??
i understand fuel starvation that mean that can be many possible thing, like blocked fuel etc.

we wil check spark plugs and change them if necessary.

i let you know what happen this week, i did not call him but anyway , looks like its a carburator problem right ?

some one who was making yamaha motor from a while an old guy told me when it have big shot gun shoot in the muffler, that mean a bad carburator /air mix/fuel missing or fuel dropping in the pipe and it accumulate and it make an explosion ?
Does hes right on this ?

and by the way, thanks to try to help me out i appreaciate it

fuel starvation. for you could be not enough fuel getting to the carbs. for an example your fuel pump. check and make sure your pump is priming. check your lines to make sure they are not kinked and make sure fuel is coming out of the petcock. the last result to starvation would be gummed up carbs. check the video (if you haven't done so already) in the wiki to show you how its done to clean them. also make sure your battery has enough juice. and with the spark plugs they are more than likely gummed up.

yes he is right about unburnt fuel igniting. but in my case I've always seen back firing caused by bad plugs.

well i call everyone sir , well i try, its a respect sing, and yes you are a sir your 19. im 27 and i dont feel like a sir haha
i wrenched a lot also, i have a real good base, but when you never did it and you have enough of experience to know if you broke this when removing etc, or need gasket blabla, so you better to learn before doing something at least a bit for stuff like carburator, not a noob can open this take the little jet and say hi little jet he drop this on the floor , just put it back in the carbu not even cleanign it because hes a noob so.

yea I now what you mean . I bought my fizzer in January. I gave it to a motorcycle guru who had it for three months without even trying to fix it. I bought it not running. it was backfiring and not starting. I tore the carbs down cleaned them and put in brand new plugs.....been running every since.
