Okay, so I have a SS2 by Vance and Hines and plan to make a shorty out of it. The tail end is chopped off the bike and the exhaust sticks out farther than my seat and Im looking for a louder sound. I've been told to stay away from the double baffled GP style for back pressure issues. My question is that if I chop it in half or get rid of a third of it will I have to retune the carbs? Any specific place I should cut or a cirtian amount I could get rid of without any consequences? Also if there is anyone out there that has done this on the SS2 any input would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Why louder, it will just get you noticed by LEO.

Re: exhaust change, need carb tuning?
I dont care about LEO ( i think your refering to cops maby, no idea what a LEO is though), Uncle is Chief of police where im at and i live out in the country anyway. Mostly want to shorten it to make it look better, the can sticks out way past the rear seat now that the frame was chopped right behind the seat. Really just curious how much tuning i will need if i cut the exhaust.
Thanks for the reply though!

As to whether your bike will need tuning, the short answer is very likely "Yes". How much, and how badly, is something that can only be determined by actually doing it.

Re: exhaust change, need carb tuning?
Ya, I figured that would be the answer I would get. Ill probably put it off for a bit to save some money to tune the carbs with it. Thanks
