Hesitation

Post by Redoliander »

Having an issue with at a stop and if I twist the throttle the bike either hesitated or just wants to die. I have to be gentle with the throttle at first then can open her up. Any ideas of what's wrong?

What is your curb idle speed.? It should be around 11-1,200 ish. And should be checked with the bike up to operating temperature. There is a large phillips headed knob behind the petcock to adjust your idle speed.

Thanks for the reply. I think I figured out what was going on. I don't think I was letting it warm up enough. I was just riding around the neighborhood to check things out. My idle was more upwards 1800-2000. So I think it was set too high so when it was going Into 1st from neutral it was grinding a bit. Idle is a bit lower than 1500 right now and that helped going into 1st and finding neutral. Ill lower the idle a bit more. Thx!
