Hey there guys. Long and skinny is I ordered a windscreen for my 1995 FZR 600 from GP500 off of ebay. Received it the other day and went to the garage to install. The holes did not match up at all. I contacted the seller and he asked me to send pictures of my upper fairing which I did. He insists my upper is from a 1990, not 1995. Which brings me to my question. Is there in fact a difference? I could not find anything that was a solid yes or no on the forums or the interwebs..
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

Try Yamaha's own From FZR600 to R6
You could have a 1994 or earlier model year bike that was first registered in 1995...

1990 FZR 1000, 1993 engine, terrible state... but improving.

Re: Bodywork differences in years
There were two different uppers, a single headlight version and a dual headlight verion.
89-90 Dual Headlight.
91-92 were the only years for the single headlight.
93-99 Dual Headlight. (same as 89-90)

Re: Bodywork differences in years
I'm aware of the basic design differences regarding the dual headlight/single headlight. What I am trying to confirm is there a difference between the 89-90 vs 94-95 upper fairing? Size, contour, hole pattern for wind screen, etc?

Your seller is talking out his backside. The part numbers for a '90 front upper was 3HE-2835G-00-GE or -7M (last two are paint codes); the '95 front upper was 3HE-2835G-00-P2 or -33. The fairing uppers used the same part number, and the same moulding. Tell the guy to either send the proper part, or return your money.Kenny two guns wrote:He insists my upper is from a 1990, not 1995.
Unless he's in the UK, and thinks you guys are discussing a 4JH YZF600 ...

Re: Bodywork differences in years
I guess I was not clear enough. I am spseaking only of the US model FZR600.
The 89,90,93,94,95,96,97,98,99 dual headlight front fairings are exactly the same to each other except for paint and stickers.
The 91-92 single headlight front fairings are exaclty the same to each other except for paint and stickers.
The dual headlight (all years and colors) are not compatible with the single headlight (all years and colors) models.
