Anyone Ever used R7 Body Work?

I did Hey all I just made the journey over here from fzrarchives. My Name is justin and I have been working on my FZR for forever and 2 days. Here is a breakdown of what it is now
1989 FZR400
1998 YZF600 Engine/Carbs/Wiring
Full D&D Exhaust
Still Using a FZR400 Airbox
1999 YZF-R7 Borywork And Tail
1990+ FZR600 Forks and Brakes
Goodridge Kevlar Brake Lines
Clip-ons Under the triple tree
520 Chain with stock YZF600 Gearing
Woodcraft Rear-sets

There is more but I can't remember all of it.

My biggest hurdle with getting this project fixed was not having quite enough fabrication skills and not having any money to have someone to do it for me. I recently got a wirefeed welder and have been practicing with it as much as possible. So hopefully I will be able to get my mounts for the bodywork sorted out and getting this thing on the road. I am actually getting my fzr out of my dads garage and putting it in my garage so I can put some other parts on it, like my progressive shock and dog bones.

Welcome! Very cool. What else you plan on doing to her? Sounds like all you need now are some(swap) R6 digital gauges.

That ? is a big ol can of worms. I need to make more permanent mounts for the exuast, and I would like to angle it up and in (more like the r7, but its for ground clearance) When I was really thrashing on this bike in 02 I wanted to do the r1 gauges and now that you all have figured out how to do it I will be putting it on the list. But basically I need to just finish things and redesign a few things as well. I haven't decided on what to do with the seat, but I am thinking I will just glass in the middle and do closed cell foam. The upper mounts needs to be completely redesigned, I had my step dad maching it but my design sucked. it was a machined blocked with a threaded hole in the middle and then we just put a threaded rod with a bend in it to mount the actuall upper. here is some pics

I am not sure who made it. There is no tag on the inside, but the glass work is pretty good, its strong and flexablie. I just need to find some good fiberglass people in the portland area so I can get some molds made in case I need to replace some of it.

Nice, I've always loved the R7 bodywork. Voluptuous yet sculptured.

Take your time when it comes to the brackets. You'd be amassed at what you can do with some flat stock steel, bench vise, and a hammer.
