Need Info! What is the Swingarm Pivot height of your Bike???

Post by tgold »

I've built the adjustable height shock mount for my FZR/XR racebike and I need to get a good starting point for the ride height. I don't have the stock ride height measurements, so I need someone to measure the swingarm pivot height with the bike standing vertical and without a rider. This info will let me know how thick to make the first ride height spacer. (Actually I'll make several spacers taller and shorter with the stock height as a middle point)

A big thanks to anyone who can help me out!

Hey hey,

Just saw this now as well-- I have a fox clicker on my 400 but I'll get some specs for ya tonight.

I'm not sure of it's height compared to stock (or even if it's adjustable/ came on bike/ clicked it up one and haven't looked at it since) but maybe it will help ya somewhere along the way.

From its center, the pivot bolt is 15 7/8 from the ground. The swing arm (meaning here, a straight line from pivot to rear axle) lays at 11.5 deg. (Figures without rider.)

Compared to stock the only relevant considerations (aside from the fox clicker) seem to be that I'm running a Battlax, 150/60 @ 18" at the back and perhaps, my progressive fork springs situate the height a little differently but that's it. (My front tire, I believe, has an Identical side-wall height and profile as stock).

Hope this helps a little.

On my completely stock 1990 3BF I measure ~385mm to the base of the frame hole where the pivot bolt is.

Excellent! That works out to within a few mm between both measurements. It'll be a good starting point.
Thanks guys!
