NEW RIDER, HELLO, PLEASE HELP

Post by itzyaboybugz »

hi everyone my name is brian weston and I'm a new rider. i recently purchased a beautiful 97 fzr 600. I love it!! I always wanted one since I was young. I'm running into a issue however. I went to ride bike, started it, let it idle, sat on it, cut out, no battery life at all. had battery charged brought home, put in bike, started up, idle, i jump on and back up, cut off no battery life. was told it was "voltage regulator" i ordered one for 128.00 it will be here this weekend. battery is new says previous owner, and shop says looks new and true. pets cycles in md told me it probably isn't alternator…. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you…

Did the shop do a load test on the battery? Sometimes even a new battery can fail. as for the VR, this should help.

Did you order a Fzr VR or R6 VR, The later is better, and is a very simple swap
