Grinder or drill with disk attachment and grinding disk.

Only way to go...

Do you have a chain tool? If not, how are you going to get the new one back on? Becarefull when you cut the new chain down to the proper length. If you take out one too many links you might as well go buy another new chain which is what I did last night. If you need a chain tool and are willing to wait a few weeks, I'll mail mine up to you as long as you send it back.

RD true it is the only way, have just fitted a 3EN swingarm (braced 400 jobbie) in mine but of course with that you have to undo the chain to thread it thro the bracing.
Master links with clips are NOT LEGAL here in the UK, so I had to grind a link remove said chain and take it to the stealership for a new RIVET link.
I had to put a deposit on the tool for putting it on and bring it back within the working day !!!

hIJACK OF THREAD :-

I did run into one problem with the swap and that is that the 3HE rear caliper does NOT fit in the 3EN caliper holder so I used the 3he Bracket & caliper plus I fashioned a new tie rod system :-}

the how to & pics will be written up when I get back from hols .

End hijack LoL

IDK I am in shock about being told about the street ban, I have to buy a new bike tool sheesh the first one i have had to buy in 28 years. :-{{{{

I tend to make "special" tools (fork, clutch, flywheel removers, chain cutters, tyre irons etc. :whistle )

If I remember correctly it's just 2 tools from Dennis Kirk. One was around $35 and one around $15, I believe. If you can afford a new o-ring or x-ring DID, RK, Regina, or Tsubaki chain, surely you can afford the 2 tools.

Get it once, use it for all future chain work on any bike you own. It's an investment. Hard to believe you've done all the swingarm swaps and fork swaps etc and never got those basic tools.

And yeah, i'm givin' you a hard time.
