What a waste!!!

Post by JeCarter »

I work at an aluminum foundry and I've seen so many motorcycle engines complete and some disassembled. Just all sorts of parts. Yeah some are fubar'd but some could be salvaged. I just shredded a complete yamaha motor and it kinda depressed me. Lol. My work won't let us buy anything which sucks. But it's their business. Well back to work I go.

That does suck!

I suppose you're not the only one in that type of position. Just be glad that you have a job that you can tolerate & that allows you to buy some parts or old bikes in your off time.

Keep on shredding on... Just don't tell me about shredding any RD's or other vintage two-strokes.

That is depressing... I'm sure that they could have made more money from you then shredding it.

That's just it. It's not worth much recycled but if they would sell it it would bring alot more money. The motor said 5pw00 on it. Not sure what bike it came from

Maybe you just came up with your new business venture. Approach your Boss/Company Owner & offer an amount over the scrap value, then haul it off & sell it on your own. You have to figure out a way to remove any resistance to the idea & emphasize how trouble free & more profitable it will be for them. The act of recycling certain parts may gain the Company more "Green Points" with the environmentalists & EPA.

Good luck
