So I have another new issue. When I hit the start button the starter doesn't engage or do anything for that matter. The lights dim and the oil light comes on. Then sometimes is works as usual. Is this the button, starter, a loose connection somewhere? I can push start it easily though.

How old is your battery?
Check your battery voltage & then clean your battery cables. You should have 12V to 14 Volts across the battery. After cleaning the cables (make sure you check both ends) and making sure that they are tight & making a good connection, your Bike should start.
If that doesn't help... The next step is the Starter Button. Try flushing it out with a plastic safe Contact Cleaner spray. Wrap up the Starter Button Housing with a rag to catch the excess & cover any painted areas to protect them from the spray. Then stick the small red tube into the opening around the Starter Button & flush it out while pushing the Button & moving it around. Flush it out well & see if you have any improvement.
These are the easy first steps to try. After that you should probably start checking wires/fuses in the starting circuit for a loose or broken connection. Then the Starter itself.

Thanks. Ill check all connections. It's a brand new battery. Hopefully it's just dirty. It starts sometimes. That's what I don't get.

If it's a Chinese battery it may not be any good even though it is new. I bought a Bike that had a supposed electrical problem. It had a brand new battery & still wouldn't start. Ended up being that the "new" battery had a dead cell in it & wouldn't hold a charge. I bought a new MADE IN THE USA battery & the Bike fired right up. It has run perfectly ever since.

A simple $5-10 hydrometer from a parts house can tell you if all your battery cells are sound. Quick and simple trouble shooting device that everyone should have in their tool box IMO.
You may have to take your starter switch apart at the clip-on and clean the contacts and the contacts on your kill/run switch. These bikes have a history of corrosision tht need to be cleaned off/up these switches as well and the side stand safety switch.
