Bye bye little guy ... RIP

Post by pnbell »

Well, after replacing the following parts:
- Clutch plates/bearing/push rod parts
- Fork seals/fork oil
- New tires/Freshly painted wheels
- Wheel bearings
- Cush drive
- Drive Chain
- Cables
- Grips
- Windshield
- Intake boots

And Performing the following maintenance:
- Tightened the steering stem bearings
- Cleaned/adjusted/synced the Carbs multiple time to get them right
- Literally just adjusted the valves clearances

The bike was running very well ... and then BAM!!! I was going through an intersection on my way home and a Taxi turn directly in front of me ...

My Bike is totaled ... My right leg and wrist are both fractured, I had bruised lungs for a few days and got a few stitches. Was in the hospital for 4 days. The insurance company paid me just short of $2,000 for the bike ...

Here's some before and after pics. I really enjoyed having this FZR and will miss it. The injuries I sustained were quite minimal given the seriousness of the accident. This happened July 1st (18 days ago) and i'm happy to report I can almost-kinda walk normally.

Safe riding guys!

Wow. I'm really sorry you got so hurt. Lawyer up. Suing idiots who wrecklessly injure motorcyclists is the only way to get it to stop. Too late for you but hopefully you can get a nice chunck of change out of their insurance.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Had to swerve big time today to avoid being a statistic (with my wife on the back), so I know how it goes.

The guy I sold my FZR to wrecked it within a month. Someone pulled out in front of him.

Sorry to hear this. Dangerous out there! Don't trust anybody else that a is anywhere near you.

Glad you are recovering nicely.

Hey, is that an Avon on the back? Did it get damaged?

Thanks guys.

To: reelrazor; No that is not an Avon. Even if it was, the bike is owned by my insurance company and lives in a Junk yard now...

Ahh, the few vehicles I have totalled always get the salvage title bought back by me (10% of payout-ins co has to give you first dibs-at least in california when I lived there, and michigan now). Then they get parted for profit.

Glad to hear you are riding again. It's a spooky thing getting creamed and a lotta guys just quit riding.
