I am. I just need to make a couple spacers and then I'm off and running. The only issue I have now is with the slight tire rubbing on the rear brake arm. It's not much, but I'd rather it not rub.
Any ideas? I'll probably switch to my FZR1000 swingarm if I am able to create some bushings for the swingarm bolt.
My 520 sprocket is on its way. Vortex confirmed the sizing and so it should fit perfectly. I have to do some more measuring, but I do believe that I will need to shim the rear sprocket out about 1mm or less.

You have the rim from a 89 GSXR 750. I have run this rim on my bike a long time ago. The rear cush drive you have is from a bandit. The brake arm is easy to deal with. Take off the bar, position it on the outside of the brake arm and swing arm mounting point. Tighten it down from there. Either that or get a different arm (which is what I did) and have that mounted on the outside. Add spacers if you need to. You can use the stock FZR600 brake arm. That will give you more room. The stock cush drive from the GSXR750 should not have to be milled to fit the YZF. But it should in order to make it fit the FZR600.
Its a 750. the reason I know is that the cush drive is 5 spline. The cush drive from the GSXR 1100 that is the same size dimensions is 6 spline. The black one is most likely from a bandit.

nynoah, are you saying that a bandit cush drive is interchangeable with the 89 gixxer 750 rim? Do you happen to know what year bandit cush drives are compatible?
I'm looking at a cush drive for a 96 bandit. Seller has a crappy picture up on ebay, and I'm hoping he will give me the dimensions.
Cuz if this is the animal, then we might just have a bolt-on recipe here boys... maybe

The lord tells me he can get me outta this mess but he tells me he's pretty sure your f***ed.
I am questioning my thoughts about the bandit cush drive. I think I got that mixed up in my head with the some other bike that is a 500.......the cush drive from that is what I am thinking about.
Really......I don't like the GSXR rear wheel. Its a boat anchor. When I changed out my GSXR 17 for my TZ250 17 it was like I suddenly gained 20HP.

They're probably no more than 3lbs in weight difference. Lord knows I have 10lbs that I need to lose...

The height from the Lug base to the top is the same (17 mm) and the overall diameter is the same (159.5 mm), but the the height from the lug base to the base of my cush drive is taller (47 mm).
Rage I'd be curious as to what the measurement was between point (A) and (B)? or Hub end to Hub end?
I'll try and get that measurement later today since the rim is at home and I'm at work.

It looks like I'll need a couple spacers, but everything seems to be lining up all too well...
Why hasn't anyone come up with this yet? We might not have to do YZF swingarm swaps for a 160 tire on a 17" rim.

I'm on the same plan. I've got a 3tj fixing and i've already put a gsx-r 400 rear rim (4,50''x17''). It wasn't to easy for me, because my 3tj had a rear arm from the older model and i had to do many mods on. I had to cut the rear sprocket's base about 10mm so bring it in alignment with the front. I used the fzr's rear calliper and caliper's base and the gixxer's rear wheel axle. Here are some photos
The one I sold Tom already had the cush drive milled down to bring the sprocket into alignment. That was the biggest hurdle. Spacers can be made to fill the remaining gaps, but I simply found washers that were a perfect fit.

When you mill the cush drive like that do you have to grind down on the rubber bushings as well? That may be a dumb question but I guess you would or they would be to thick like the cush was.

The only part that was milled down was where the sprocket attaches. Maybe Tom can take a photo of each since I think he has an unmolested one.
