r6 front brakes and master cylinder

Post by tclayton9 »

What all is needed to put r6 front brakes and master cylinder on my 1993 fzr. Can I use the same brake lines and lever, and will any year r6 calipers work, or is there any preferred year to use.

Just what you mentioned in your title, on mine the lines were just a touch short.

I ordered stainless braided r6 lines. Cut to length.

Ditch the stock lines... braided stainless is the only way to go for performance.

You might be able to use the stock FZR lines but you'll have to twist them. The input on the FZR calipers is on the rear and on the R6 calipers it is on the side.

You cannot use the FZR lever on the R6 master.

Not really..you would still have to fabricate or find a way to mount the brake fluid reservoir (the cup). Other than that it should fit.
