Fzr 750 gearbox in fzr 1000

Hi.

I have an fzr 750 gearbox in a 1000 genesis bike from 1987. I have to order a new chain and sprockets. Should I buy the 17/42 config for the 750 or go for 16/46 for the 1000? What chain length and type should I use?
Btw, does anyone know if an fz 750 seat cowl will fit a 1000 from 87?
Or have a link for a seat cowl for the 1000 1987?

I used the gearbox from a 86 fzx700 (fazer) in my 1000 because the 2nd gear dogs where chipped

my sprockets are 17/40 and I used a 530 chain 110 link o-ring with rivet master link I took 2 or 3 links off cant remember but its close enough to get you in the ball park

6th gear I can cruse 55mph at around 3000rpm nice and smooth

But here as a great web site for everything gearing and your chain length. The 1K is already programed in there as are all my bikes. Even allows for different tyre sizing.
