3he 2 pots to 4 pots

Post by JohnBoy69 »

Probably gonna re-seal my original two pots, but does anyone know if 90-91-ish standard 3HE 4 pot calipers will bolt straight onto my forks which are '89-90 3HE two pot type, and if so will they be ok with the original 2 pot discs?

Looking at photos the mounting spacing may be different?

Anyone done it?

Thanks,
John

Hi,
I seem to remember that there is a piece in the WIKI on caliper mounting hole spaces re- blue/gold dot calipers on 600's.

1. This is what I have done...
2. This is what I think...

3he 2 pots to 4 pots

Post by Redoliander »

Did a search and found someone who mounted Triumph T595 front calipers, they are 4 pots. Said they were direct bolt on but to be careful that there are two different calipers. 83mm and 90mm spacing. You want the 83mm I believe.

Rh 2 pot caliper leaking as known and inner piston seized (no wonder they felt weak) has prompted my decision to stray a little from my originality spec and a 'good' pair of T595/nissin 4 pot calipers are on the way.

Will grind off the 'triumph' raised logos, repaint black and fit nissin stickers for a nod to the OW01...

Cheers,

John

Got the triumph calipers which do bolt on fine.

One problem is the hose inlet position- it's at the top (at an awkward angle) as opposed to being on the back of the caliper.

I have HEL lines with not a lot of slack and it looks like things could get a bit tricky.

I've had a search online but does anyone know if I can get some kind of adapter or something that will screw into the caliper inlet hole, bend 90, 60 or 45 degrees and allow the banjo to be fitted pointing down?- hope that makes sense.

Cheers,

John

Ok, having taken a brake line off and turned it 'round I now have a slight crank at the caliper end which will allow me to set up like in the picture below a la OW01. Will need to find/make brackets to secure the hoses using the front mudguard(fender) mount bolts.

This has just been temporarily thrown on. Will grind off the 'triumph' etc etc

What do you guys think? Could this cause issues at MOT?

Cheers John

Can you give me a center to center measurement between the two mounting points?

In that post there was still some question. I was just looking for confirmation.

Triumph Nissin calipers with 'triumph' logos filed off, painted and with nissin stickers and new pads.

Not plumbed in yet and need to sort hose guides, but they look pretty good.
