Kill Switch help.

Post by Gh0sT21 »

So i was watching motovlogers on youtube and some say that it better to let it on the kill switch others say, with that you stop your enigne.
So I am asking you guys since you all own a FZR what its better for the bike, leave it on and use just it just for emergency, or you can use it where you want it, because it does not do any damage to the bike. Please help me . Thanks

I don't think it will do any harm to your bike to use the kill switch every time.

Some people are taught to use it so every time so that in an emergency they know where it is without having to think about it.

I don't see how it could possibly damage the engine. On the FZRs, all it does it cut power to the TCI (ignition) box, preventing the coils from sparking. I could understand someone being concerned that you might wear the kill switch out, but all that would happen is that the engine fails to run.

Honestly, I'd be more concerned with a never-used kill switch corroding in the "ON" position, such that when you need it RIGHT NOW the engine keeps going, or - as Clanky suggested - you wind up frantically searching for it in a OH CRAP situation.

Use it, love it, keep it working. my2cents
