Wheel bearings/seals

Post by GreyImport »

Does anyone know if the wheel bearings and seals on an FZR400 (or any other model) are the same for a 3LN 250? .......

Looking for something like this....

GI,
The wheel seals are nothing special, if you look at the outer face (not the circumference) you will see the size printed on the old one any major bearing house normally stock seals as well (allballs comes to mind and they have anifty search engine too) just quote them the size and they will have it ex stock

If that face has been destroyed the Yamaha part number actually contains that code as well (or it did when I ran Y-geo's purchasing for our Yamaha service division too many years ago

Thanx for the info

This was the responsefrom my query to Allballs....

Kit number 25-1316 has those bearings in it. I cannot confirm if the seals are the same.

I will have a closer look at the seals and compare some numbers but I will probaly buy the kits for front and rear as they arnt that expensive anyway.

As u say the seals are nothing special and as with alot of basic Yamaha bits and parts they are common over their range of machinery and products like ATVs and jetskis etc......an obvious cost saving when u are a company with such a large range!

Therefore the chances of similar motorcycles in the range will have identical components.........

Both bikes use Yamaha part 93306-30212-00 (supercedes 93306-30202-00), which is a 6302ZZ bearing, 15x42x13mm. You can get these at any bearing house for rather less than what Yamaha charges.
