Re: What Tires or Tyres you are runnin
Pirelli Diablo 120/70-17 front ..... Pirelli Diablo 180/55-17 rear
Re: What Tires or Tyres you are runnin
Dunlop Sportmax, front, 110/70ZR17
Dunlop Sportmax, rear, 140/60ZR18
UNFORTUNATELY...
they don't make these any more, stopped making them last year, but i should still be able to get another 2 years out of these tires until i have to decide on something else. I'm thinking Pirelli Sport Demons sound good or BT014 Bridgestones if most of you have success with them.

Re: What Tires or Tyres you are runnin
Getting this topic back on the top in 2012
On my 250 Im running Pirelli Sport Demons front and rear
100/80-17s front
130/70-17s rear
You guys don't really talk about good setups for tyres in this thread, please guide me if there is a thread for this.
Im thinking of taking my bike on a track day, what is a good setup (dont want slicks or something extremely expensive) what sizes for a 250 are recommended.
cheers

New tires are the best insurance when taking your bike to the track. I ran Michelin Power Race tires on my GSXR600, but those are no longer available - they have been replaced by the Michelin Power One's, which I assume would also be a great choice.nazaaron wrote:Im thinking of taking my bike on a track day, what is a good setup (dont want slicks or something extremely expensive) what sizes for a 250 are recommended.
The issue with your 250 is finding quality tires in your required size.

Re: What Tires or Tyres you are runnin
On my FZR250 3LN3 I am running Bridgestone BT090 110/70R17 front and 140/70R17 rear. Did a trackday at Brands Hatch 1 year ago when I had just had the new front fitted - can't recommend it enough. The rear I have had to go -1 tooth on the front sprocket to make up for the extra tyre height. No chicken strips on the rear though so the tyre is performing very well.
On my FZR400 3TJ I have put on 120/60ZR17 Front 160/60ZR17 Rear Michelin Pilot Powers. It hasn't made it out of the shed yet though
Will give feedback when it rolls.....

Re: What Tires or Tyres you are runnin
The 110/70 17 is **much** easier to get hold off. Just be sure to match tyre type front to rear (Radial or non-radial) and both should be at least H rated for speed.nazaaron wrote:yeah good info there thanks! so on my 3LN1 yamaha says stock front tyre is 100/80... u guys do or dont recommend going thicker? 110/80?
Front http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop. ... =110&m_s=1
Rear http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop. ... =110&m_s=1
Is what I run, both radial (R17) and both H rated. The BT45's are a good tyre and available in those sizes too. I have used the Avon AM26 roadriders on a 350YPVS they were pretty good and are available in 110/70 front and 130/70 aswell.
