Testing Gyro-Cam at Deals Gap

Post by tomsljr »

My buddy Derek whipped up a home-made gyro-cam out of parts he had laying around. There will be further refinements, but it works pretty damn well as it is. I am going to do another run with it with less traffic and a higher mounting point sometime soon. If anyone is interested, I'll post that one as well. The road is US 129, known as Deals Gap or the t-shirt shops call it "The Dragon". The bike is a 1990 FZR400

I didn't watch the whole video but I would like to know what that looks like on the nose of the bike. Sweet I bet.

My immediate thought as well I think I will come up with something and try to sell it to them.

We are working on a marketable version of the rig. We are also going to make some up for track-day and race rentals. Here is a short video of Jared Barnes using the cam. He is very fast, to say the least.
