out of ideas no clue what to do need help

Post by drsfzr1000 »

Ok guys new here don't know all the rules.so forgive me if i'm breaking any posting rules but I just don't know what to do. Ok I have a 94 fzr 1000. Runs like a champ until it gets real hot. take for instance riding around in stop and go traffic for 30 min on a 90 degree day. Well once she gets hot and you go to take off she bogs down something serious and wants to cut off unless you wotand it will not go above 1000 rpms. Any clues

lots of factors to take in without all the info but...

what sort of milage has it done since the shim were last adjusted. Is it a pig to start when warm?

or does it bog from takeoff then pull clean when gets going...could be worn emulsion toobs

is it dead up to 4K...could be the exup vavle seized or the gears in the servo stripped :headscratch: :headscratch:
If its not broken it dont need fixing

Valves are good. Never hard to start. exup stuff not a factor because it has after market exhaust and it has been running fine for like 9 months. What duo the emulsion tubes do. Actually what should I check on the exup cause I have a buddy who is ha

emulsion toobs control the flow of fuel at low rpm. The needle lifts to open the hole up in the end of the toob allowing more fuel as the revs rise...but the hole in the end of the toob where the needle goes wears oval and allows too much fuel through at low rpm mamking it run rich. This makes the engine bog down when trying to pull away. Once the revs rise enough to cope with the xs fuel the bike takes off and revs clean from then on

the exup valve has a similar effect....usually yhr valve seizes in its chamber either open or closed

if its open it'll only rev at the top end where the bike coms "on cam" above 5K ish. Its basically acting like a race pipe but not been jetted to be like that so runs rough
it the valve is closed the top end will be stifled, the low down grunt will be there tho'
