FZR 600 3HE ---> R6 :-)

Post by batasquad »

Hello all,

Just had to put a new engine in my FZR 600 as my old one knackered up. So since i spent money on an engine, i decided to get some dekelvic headers as recommended by southendchris (Cheers M8) also got a WolfRace (Trident) Carbon fibre dual tip rear can, then went on to get new tyres and new chain and sprocket.

I think i may as well keep the bike now lol so i was wondering how to make it look more modern.

I have seen a few people put an R6 rear end on, that is something that i would certainly do (if anyone on here has done it, i would be grateful for any advice) but i was also wondering what other bits can be done or swapped from R6 to make it look the dogs danglies :D

Many Thanks in advance for any advice

Rob

p.s. I'll get some pics up when i have put the bike all back together again :tks:

My old college tutor once said to me "anything is possible if you've got the money to do it". I personally bought the fzr for its looks so dont really see the need in changing it all. But I have seen fzr's with the full R6 fairing. Theres one on here that has 848 fairing, even one with a ducati top fairing. Like i said if you've got the time, money and patience you can pretty much fo anything...

There are a lot of people who have done the R6 tail swap. Here is a decent write-up: http://heath.agdog.com/fzr/workbench/19 ... ndex.shtml

The easiest update is the Airtech tail. I went a little further and modded a R6 undertail into mine. A little more work, but I like the look. (see below)

This guy in Brooklyn just chopped the tail and made it look a bit more modern for little cost...

I like the Matt Black on the last bike, but it's got to be said, they arnt that attractive, ha ha. Darrin's R6 rear end looks really nice, im thinking that is the way to go. I notice that you also have the R6 front calipers, anything else you nicked off an R6 on there?
