Vibration fixed?

Post by pnbell »

This is interesting... History: My bike has always had a lot of vibrations between 4-5k rpm and over 6k rpm. :headscratch:

I removed the Fiberglass Packing from my Vance & Hines SS2R Slip-on just to see what it would sound like. (*I actually like the sound, only a tiny bit of raspy-ness, and surprisingly not ridiculously loud; it still has the front part of the muffler installed)

--- Anyway in addition to the sound, i noticed an amazing drop in vibration at both the 4-5k rpm range and at over 6k+ rpms!!

Like the vibrations are barely noticeable now..?

My thought is maybe the bike was running rich once the needle/main jet can into play and freeing up the exhaust system is helping it get more air flow..? It seems to rev better and is smoother overall; I'll be watching my gas mileage for changes..

Either way interesting mistaken discovery!
