FZR600 First Fighter Build

just bought a 1990 yamaha FZR600 and Im going to rebuild it. This is my first build so any help would be appreciated. I will post pictures as I progress. Also Anybody else who wants to feel free to post pictures and info about your FZR600 rebuild.

I recently got a 1990 fzr 600 too, it was basically ready to go, I just had to strip the carbs and give everything a good cleaning. And redo the brakes. A Haynes guide and YouTube is the path to take! Lol.

The FZR is a really nice platform to work from. I've got a Honda VFR swingarm, Ducati Monster seat and tail light, YZF600 tank, R6 forks, Renthal dirt bars, a led headlight, and a 660 motor in mine.

Also, did you powder coat your frame? Or what?

Yes my frame is powdercoated.

I've heard that you can use the rust oleum spray paint to paint the frames, any idea on this?

Gonna be nice. Those look like aftermarket headers by the way. Do your best to keep them! :headbang:

Hopefully my 3TJ project will be up and running in about 2 - 3 months, like you it's paycheck by paycheck :duh:

Looks good, still have that tail piece? What would need to be done to it to make it fit on a 1990 600? And how much for it?
