Thanks fellas! Yeah, I've kept my eyes open looking for a nice 1000 for a while now. I stopped looking for quite some time when this one showed up. I have all of the documentation of this bike since day one. Amazing. I'm gonna rebuild the forks, toss in some new pads and put on a pair of Pilot 3s. Other than that I think it'll live up to the old '89 FZR 1000 of yore.

@ Brown Stain - she's a stunner bud! Mine I bought 5 days ago, put a Metzler on the back and some new brake pads, rode her down to my beach house (about 170km from where I live), cleaned her today and dead happy. As a newbie here, I haven't yet learnt how to upload a pic, but will surely get there soon!

For some reason, this "post reply" doesn't give me the option to upload - in a previous topic, I managed to post a pic. I'll keep trying!

Hey, finally got that one right - had this baby now for 6 days (today raining so hate to count it in) and enjoying her very much! One or two small scratches on her fairing, but will soon sort that out. I've ordered a smoked visor which I'll fit soon too!

Hi B-S,
you might want to photoshop out your numberplate details.with the internet it would be easy enough to track the registration and you wake up to find the bike GONE..
I agree with my husband Blue & White bikes always look clean

Very nice Mike! She's a beauty. I noticed Yamaha changed the front brake calipers and mounts. Never knew that.
I hear ya Camala. Although I'd pity the fool trying to steal it. It would make great entertainment though.

"great entertainment...." - I like your track of thought!
I've ordered a smoked "screen/visor" which I think might look better with the black upper portion of the fairing.

I was thinking the same thing about a smoked screen on mine. That would look really nice on yours.
