Oil/fuel leaking
So after cranking my 1990 fzr 600 I noticed its leaking fuel from the carbs, and leaking a little oil from the oil filter cover... Where can I get a new gasket for the oil cover gasket, and what do I need to do with the carbs?

Hi,
Oil seals you can get from Powesports Plus in the US for about $5.00
http://www.powersportsplus.com/parts/se ... parts.html
Ebay is pretty good for FZR 600 carb kits, around $25.00 each.

They definitely need a strip and clean. Whether they need any parts is something you'll have to determine once it's all apart. Do yourself a favour, though - if you don't have a manual, leave one carb assembled so you don't sit there playing, "Now WHERE did that go?!"

I took them apart to clean them before, and I have the Haynes guide-awesome to have. But yeah. I'll have to take them apart again... Lol.

Well, I'm not sure exactly. Lol. Is there we way to better see? The fuel tank and all is mounted. Can I take the fuel tank and air box off- leaving the fuel lines connected, and run the bike for a sec to see where the fuels coming from?

It helps to have a peice of fuel hose as an extention but yes you can take the fuel take off and position it next to the bike and run it.Mrjtnorwood wrote:Well, I'm not sure exactly. Lol. If you find the fuel is coming from the tubes at the bottom of carbies, usually means stuck float valve. If its from the float bowl join, check that the screws are not loose.
You dont relly have to have the bike running, just the ignition on so the fuel pump is applying pressure to the fuel system.
