Source for Front Wheel Spacer?

Hi,

I really need to find a front wheel spacer but can't find anywhere stocking them. Does anyone know of a supplier or whether there is a spacer from a different bike that can be used?

Type in on google csmnl its a german company that should stock them. They can be expensive but its genuine yamaha stuff i believe. Or you could try wemoto.com but not sure if they'd stock them....

Tried Googling but nowhere seems to have them. Tried the two you mentioned and even some places in the States but no joy. Running out of options now I may have to buy a second hand wheel just for the spacer.

The spacer your on about is the one which sits between the two wheel bearings correct? Some people may not recommend it but its better than having nothing at all you could find some 5mm thick steel tubing and cut it too the same length as the distance between the two bearings. Obviously the tubing would need to have the same inside diameter as the outside diameter of the wheel spindle. And both the surfaces of the tubing will need to be flat. Could be a cheap fix instead of buying a new wheep just for the spacer???

Yes mate, the longer one between the two sets of bearings. Having one made is definitely a good option, if its properly made with decent steel I can't really see a problem with that. I'm going to Peterborough bike show this weekend so you never know what I might find. If I can't get one soon I'll probably do as you suggest and have something made up.

Its certainly an option worth considering mate. Any decent machine shop will be able to do it. Have it made from stainless steel and it'll last longer than the bike. Peterborough bike show? You local to peterborough then?

If it's a 1WG 400 you have then I have a 1WG FZR400 front wheel you are welcome to have. I just wanna get the discs off, unless you want to pay me £25 for them and get a free wheel

You guys are hilarious really, not any of you thought to send the old man an email.

The spacer is NOT the distance between the two bearings but is the distance piece between the two bearings.
Ie the bearing stops between the two sides in the wheel casting may be say 175mm. The center spacer would actually be 175.30 mm long .
Remember it is to keep the bearing on each sides inner race turning together and the outer race is held by the wheel casting.

Reason I'm looking for the spacer is because I accidentally tossed the old one out with some junk parts That's why I would like to actually get hold of one, even if it's a bit beat up I could use it as a reference for having one made so thanks for the heads up on the measurement. Shame I can't offer you a lift to the show but we're staying overnight in a tent. I swore to the wife I'd never go camping again after a few bad seasons but I am willing to make an exception when it suits me.

OK the distance you are looking for is the distance between the two cast faces that stop the bearing falling into the center hollow ADD 0.3 mm to that and you have a spacer. You can buy plastic verniers with a gauge they can be filed down in height easily to slide into place thro the wheel.
How do I know cause his nibs made me alter a set under his watchful eye as part of getting to know what he does so well (well that is what he believes LoL)
