Re: exup valve
If you have the OEM exhaust, you'll definitely want to replace the EXUP system. I don't have one, but everyone I've seen post about it has asserted that you lose serious mid-range without the valve. Does your engine rev past 4k? There's a 'limp' mode that kicks in if the TCI / ignitor doesn't detect a working servo hooked up.

Re: exup valve
It revs up past 4 easy in neutral I only had a quick shot but it seemed to be fine I nearly got it on its back wheel by mistake in First gear. I will need to get some insurance before I take her out on the open road. The collector box is still on but it has a stumpy viper can on it. This is my first fzr so everything is new to me. I swapped a triumph daytona t595 for it.
Re: exup valve
If it revs cleanly to red-line, the servo is still attached. See if Zippy still has the valve and cover on a shelf, or scour the classifieds for people parting out FZR1000s.
