94 FZR 600 electrical/igniton problem?
hi everyone, im brand new here and looking for some help. i have tried searching but im not sure i found the answer im looking for or perhaps i missed it somewhere. anyways, i have a 94 fzr 600. im an having a problem with the ignition. when i turn the key on, the blinkers/markers and brake light come on. nothing else. no idiot lights, cluster dosent light up, fuel pump dosent come on, horn dosent work, start button dosent work, nothing. besides the blinkers/markers and brake light. all fuses are ok. i replaced the voltage regulator and got a new batt less then a year ago. the batt is fine, i load tested it. im guessing the voltage regulator is ok. could it be a short somewhere in the harness, or a bad ignition switch? i just struggle with electrical sometimes. again, sorry if im beating a dead horse here and this has been coverd. any help would be really appreciated, id like to get this thing running. any thoughts?

When you say the blinkers, brake and running lights come on is that when you hit the brake switch or when you mash the button for the turn.
Call me dumb but are you sure you checked the main 30amp fuse under the tail fairing on the kickstand side.
If yes then it sounds like a switch.

Yes I spotted your possible mistake are you sure the brake light works or is it possible the tail lamp is permanently on as it should be?
If so then we could have a problem with the ignition switch and/or the Brown wire leading from the ignition switch to the fuse box. The brown wire from the ignition switch provides power to all of the fuses in the fuse box. The Marker & Tail lamps are fed VIA the blue wire from the ignition switch therefore VIA the main fuse, so we know that is working.
Hey I could be wrong. Grab a MM and run some tests this diagram will or should help you http://fzronline.com/wiki/lib/exe/detai ... iagram.gif
Re: 94 FZR 600 electrical/igniton problem?
thanks for the responses, i should have been more clear. the break light stays bright(as if i were holding the break lever or useing the rear break) it dosent go dim like it should if the breaks werent being used. and the turn signals just stay solid, they wont blink. and i have checked the main fuse many times and it was fine, i even replaced it, along with the others just to be sure. ill check out that diagram and get back to you, again thanks for the responses.

Dave I'd say you have a bad switch. Last I looked you could get one off flea bay cheap. Or someone here might have an extra one all the people parting out their bikes you should pm them.

Re: 94 FZR 600 electrical/igniton problem?
well the problem ended up being the main switch, i rigged up a toggle for the time being until i can get a new ignition, thanks for the help.
