Strange Electrical Issues
OK so I just bought a 94 fzr 600 for 100 bucks off a buddy. My 1996 600 just died on me so i started transferring over parts from one to the other. Before I touched anything, i noticed that the rear tail-running lights were not working. Thinking it was the bulbs, i changed over the tail light from the 1996, and it still wouldn't work. After transferring over all 4 blinkers, and the rear light, everything went to hell. The blinker indicator on the speedometer doesn't work, the rear tail running light still doesn't work. when i put any blinker on, all 4 turn on and so does the rear running light. the break lights work fine and i am completely stumped. I just dropped it off for a carb tune and should be getting it back next week, but until then, any ideas?
Re: Strange Electrical Issues
hi have you checked the blinker relay, also make sure your bulbs are in properly and all conections are clean.other than that its proberbly possesed by an evil spirit.
Re: Strange Electrical Issues
Yes, Since i have two relays i changed it with the one that used to work and i still get the same problem. I was wondering if it could be the left set of switches?
Re: Strange Electrical Issues
When electricals start misbehaving, always check the switches - there could be some crud or corrosion fouling the contacts. Or the spirit of an angry tiki god ...

Offer it rum and cigars, if that doesn't work slaughter a chicken in your garage and offer it as a sacrifice.

Re: Strange Electrical Issues
Are the electrical circuits different between a 96 and a 94? if not all the bits you swaped over could be
messing up your electrics, just had a look in the wiki and the wiring for turn and rear lights looks
differnt between a 96 and 94.

That's a very good suggestion.Siheinz wrote:Are the electrical circuits different between a 96 and a 94? if not all the bits you swaped over could be

Personally I would put the rear light & the 4 blinkers the bike originally came with back on. Then see what happens if it's the same, we possibly have a PO that screwed thing's up couldn't fix it so sold it. Not many of those are there
